Jesse Rose's Made to Play label issues its first compilation Playing Around this month.
Made to Play's philosophy is pretty darn simple: make records for DJs to play. But there is one problem with that. What if you don't have a turntable? Luckily Rose has thought of that and decided to compile the label's current releases so far on CD for the turntable-challenged.
Playing Around arrives as a two disc set. Disc one is an unmixed compilation of highlights from the label's thirteen-strong 12" catalogue featuring Rose's collaborations with Sinden and Trevor Loveys plus tracks by Tom Mangan, L'ill Bo Tweak as well as up-and-comer comer Oliver $, who also mixes up the label's platters on disc two. Just like it says on the tin: made to play.
