UNsound - NYC

Acid techno pioneer Hardfloor deliver a nostalgic mix on the latest Platipus compilation. Tales from the Unexpected 3 drops in July.

Hardfloor's Ramon Zenker and Oliver Bondzio are best known for their acid trance anthem 'Acperience' and their ongoing love affair with the TB-303.

Tales... again illustrates their passion for all things vintage with older tracks from Robert Hood, Convextion, Lab Insect, Alter Ego and Alden Tyrell forming the backbone of the mix. The handful of newer tracks getting a foot in the door include cuts by Damian Schwartz, Rejected and Agnès.

"When I listen to records from back in the day, they can't compare to today's music," explains Bondzio. "That raw feeling can't be heard in our current environment where everything seems to over rely on digital production."

Rather than come up with two discrete sets, the pair also decided to make one extended mix and split it in two with disc one finishing on the opener for disc two.

Mon, 09 Jun 2008Grumptronix - 'Black Orchid', what a way to start a mix! I'm really looking forward to hearing this. Their flashback mix for the X-Mix Series was top notch. I hope this is, too.
