Stefan Goldmann enters into a Transitory State

The producer will drop his first full-length CD, a double no less, in September.

House maverick Stefan Goldmann will release his debut full-length, The Transitory State, in September.

But that's about where the routine nature of this news ends. Goldmann's debut release will be a double disc set, the first CD of which collects self-selected dance works from 2005 to 2008 (including six tracks never before released on CD). The second CD, on the other hand, will be Goldmann in electro-acoustic mode. Similar to his track on Innervisions' recent Muting the Noise compilation, there's nary a beat to be found. Instead, chirps, squeaks, shimmers, and drones rule the day. It's the sound of Goldmann "searching for the common root of all music". Or so he claims. Either way, the second disc is entitled Voices Of The Dead, and will also be released as a limited edition box set of five 7-inches.

Goldmann will be celebrating its release alongside Ricardo Villalobos, Pansonic's Mika Vainio and Ulrich Schnauss on September 4th at the Berghain. Something tells us it's going to be a show to remember.

Fri, 21 Nov 2008Well I saw him at Fabric's room 1 last year and at Panorama Bar recently and it was a corker both times. Needless to mention both places were packed.

Fri, 21 Nov 2008So true. Went to see him at Like That in sep/oct. place had 30 people in it. I felt so embarassed for him and the promotors. Like a true legend he ripped it up even to 30 people.

Fri, 21 Nov 2008Goldmann is underrated isn't he? Every deep house clone gets praised and here there hasn't been a comment in two months. Anyway, the 'straightforward' techno cd is amazing.
