Body & Soul returns to London

- Dance music legends Body & Soul will play London this weekend at Brixton's Carling Academy. The Body and Soul trio, Francois K, Joe Claussell and Danny Krivit have rarely played together after the demise of their Sunday afternoon gig at Vinyl in New York City, but the UK will get a treat this weekend as all three will play at Carling Academy in a back-to-back nine-hour extravaganza, following on almost exactly a year after their previous UK appearance. Starting at 9PM and promising to go until 6AM, the trio will playing on a custom-built sound system brought in especially for the event, while lights will be handled by Ariel—a legend in the field. But, more importantly for all concerned, the group promises something called a "Balloon Cocoon." We can guess what that means, but we also think it's probably best to experience it in person while enjoying the Latin-tinged sounds of Claussell, Krivit's soulful house or Francois' everything-under-the-sun sets.
