Lee Jones will release his debut solo album,
Electronic Frank, on Aus Records in September.
Jones, who has made a name for himself as one-third of My My, has been releasing 12-inches since last year on Simple's sub-label. And, as the RA
reviewing crew can tell you, we're big fans of his anthemic tech house. But while Jones' singles have been dancefloor-ready burners, judging by the track times on
Electronic Frank, we've got something else entirely on our hands.
Gone are the lengthy anthems, as most songs here clock in at around the four-and-a-half minute mark and seem to mine a more home-listening vibe, taking in accordions, pianos, strings, harps, and the human voice into Jones' richly textured stew.
