Lee Jones preps Electric Frank

A debut solo record is in the works for September from this My My producer.

Lee Jones will release his debut solo album, Electronic Frank, on Aus Records in September.

Jones, who has made a name for himself as one-third of My My, has been releasing 12-inches since last year on Simple's sub-label. And, as the RA reviewing crew can tell you, we're big fans of his anthemic tech house. But while Jones' singles have been dancefloor-ready burners, judging by the track times on Electronic Frank, we've got something else entirely on our hands.

Gone are the lengthy anthems, as most songs here clock in at around the four-and-a-half minute mark and seem to mine a more home-listening vibe, taking in accordions, pianos, strings, harps, and the human voice into Jones' richly textured stew.

Tracklist
01. Beginn
02. Theme for Frank
03. Soon
04. White Rabbit
05. Fun Runner
06. Honey & Ginger
07. Kinder Country
08. Roadwork
09. Shoe Shine
10. The Secret
11. Every Click Matters
12. It Is Isn't It
13. Safari
14. MDMAzing

Lee Jones solo debut, Electronic Frank, will be released on September 29th on Aus.comment 42 Comments

Mon, 13 Oct 2008This is a grea grea album, I would give it a 4.5 for certain. Yes, it is not club oriented but if you are just looking for damn good / deep / interesting and soulful vibes that propagate through the air, put this one on. I am a really big fan of ambient and atmospheric music (as well as floor bombs, of course), but this is exactly what I have been looking for in '4 on the floor' type music. Great use of samples, crisp production and an all around SOLID 14 track LP. Although I love Dubfire,... More

Sun, 12 Oct 2008'The mood darkens with the sinister guitar licks of ?Shoe Shine? before the intensity dial is cranked up fully with 'Every Click Matters', which sounds like Timbaland might if he'd hung out in Berlin for the last 5 years with fabulous fruits in fancy dress.....'

LOL

An excellent album - no doubt
