JD Twitch will release
Mmm, Betty!, a collection of his re-edits under the name Betty Botox, in August.
Known for his freewheeling DJ sets as one-half of
Optimo, Twitch has also made a name for himself re-editing obscure slices of vinyl for the past few years. His first full-length release is no different, as Twitch cuts up the nervous synth experiments of the Residents, Aussie industrialists Severed Heads, psych rockers Hawkwind and many more. The result is a mélange of unlikely tunes that have rocked the dancefloor of Glasgow's Sub Club. A chunky and strange ride of kraut, dub, disco, and everything else under the sun, it promises to be one of the more diverse collections of re-edits that you'll hear in 2008.
