Rex The Dog will release his debut album on Hundehaus on September 1, 2008.

For a few years, the identity of Rex The Dog was one of electronic music's biggest mysteries. Nowadays, we know him as Jake Williams, but the mysteries continue: Why has it taken so long to get a full-length together? What retro machines was he coaxing those stomping analogue electro out of? What's the deal with that dog? Most of those questions will be answered in September when Rex drops his debut full-length, The Rex The Dog Show, which collects many of his greatest hits, a couple of remixes (The Knife, The Sounds), and a host of new material.

So, what's it sound like? Decidedly poppy. Few songs make it over five minutes on this sleek record and vocals abound, whether it be on the aforementioned remixes or the Ping Pong Bitches' contribution to 'Itchy Scratchy'. This ain't exactly the Kompakt Rex The Dog anymore. This one's got his eyes on the charts, while staying true to his signature sound.

A single, 'I Can See You; Can You See Me?,' will precede the album by a week and includes remixes from Oliver Huntemann, Drop The Lime, and more.

Wed, 24 Sep 2008Yeah This album would've been on time in 2005 when I was into dzh dzh dzh electro-house, but still I apreciate this guy having a unique sound, but still that sound kind of wore off. For anyone liking this check out his rmx on Client - Radio. Its like a perfect soundtrack to rollercoaster rides.
