  • A Guy Called Gerald has remastered and re-released his 1995 drum & bass masterpiece Black Secret Technology. Regarded as one of the first drum & bass full-lengths ever released, the record has grown in estimation over the years in inverse proportion to its availability. Gerald Simpson, the producer behind the celebrated moniker, is luckily aware of the situation and has done the obvious thing: remastered the tracks and released the thing on his own imprint. The first release on his label, Gerald also confirmed that remastered versions of his Juice Box material might be on the way as well. To which we say, "Yes, please." Gerald isn't stuck in the past, however. He's got a recent single out on Perlon called "In Ya Head," as well as some live dates coming up in Japan and Ibiza. Not bad. A Guy Called Gerald re-released Black Secret Technology in July 2008.
