  • Twenty experimentally-minded electronic artists such as Fennesz, Monolake's Robert Henke and Matmos have tackled the world of pop music for Fractured Recordings in a series of ten limited edition 7-inches. The label asked each artist to pick a track from the past that held a "particular significance" to them, leading to a number of classic rock picks from each of the past three decades. Fennesz, for one, takes on A-ha, while Pansonic's Mika Vainio turns Kate Bush's "Running Up That Hill" into a spooky, spare track. To make it even more special, though, the results (all mastered by Rashad Becker at Dubplates and Mastering) have been collected in a limited edition box set of 500. So, the only way you're going to get them is to shell out the £60 price tag…or wait for them to inevitably leak to the internet.
