New Order reissued (again)

The electronic pop legends will see their first five full-lengths re-released later this month.

Dance music legends New Order will see their '80s full-lengths re-released this month by Rhino.

Billed as collector's editions, Movement, Power, Corruption & Lies, Low-Life, Brotherhood and Technique will each feature a bonus disc that contains a host of material that the group released around the time of each album's release that never made it on to the full-length proper. Even so, New Order fan forums are a-buzzin' with the missed opportunity to actually provide diehards with material that they might actually not have heard before. With Peter Hook recently announcing the band has been finally dissolved, we're guessing that the interest—aside from interviews that are promised in each of the reissue's liner notes—just wasn't there.

For the beginner, however, this may just be an excellent way to start your journey into the world of New Order, especially considering some of the group's best work was done on singles that never made an appearance on a full-length—most notably the group's classic "Blue Monday."

I myself am looking for a digital re-issue of Gwen Guthrie's Padlock.

Much harder to get than New Order's material .....
