- Hatchback and Sorcerer team up for Cali disco vibes on their full-length debut in October.
Windsurf, AKA Sorcerer's Daniel Judd and Hatchback's Sam Grawe, will sail off into uncharted territory when they release their debut full-length together in October.
As you might expect from their solo projects, the sound of Windsurf is that of Balearic gone to California: It's music that takes in elements of Boards of Canada, Prins Thomas and a whole lot of yacht rock. Coastlines is the name of the record and it aptly sums up the duo's aesthetic. These are tunes perfect for a drive down the coast, alongside the water with a window cracked open and the wind smacking in your face. Or something like that.
Prins Thomas, at the very least, has fallen in love with the boys and is releasing the record on his Internasjonal imprint, which thus far has put out other light disco tunes from the likes of Nick Chacona and Mark E. The release comes in the wake of recent debut full-length albums from both Judd (Tirk) and Grawe (Lo Recordings), which mine a similar vibe.
