Pop star Sam Sparro has been nominated for five ARIA Awards.
The Australian version of the Brit Awards, the ARIA's are awarded each year to those who have made "achievements in the Australian music industry." It's curious to say the least that Sparro has been nominated, considering he only spent the first ten years of his life in the country, but if you don't tell anyone, we promise not to tip anyone off either.
Also set to be crossing their fingers at the Sunday, 19 October ceremony will be Midnight Juggernauts, The Presets and Cut Copy, the latter two of which will fight it out in the "Best Dance Release" category along with Pnau, The Potbelleez and Mobin Master.
