Fabric - London

Damian Lazarus is the next DJ to be honored with a coveted spot as a mixer in Soma's Sci-Fi-Lo-Fi series this month.

The Crosstown Rebels owner will celebrate his recent relocation to Los Angeles—and the release of the mix—by leaving the city to tour across North American with dates throughout October and November on a jaunt he's calling The Devil Night Tour. Dates in Mexico and Canada are planned, but the tour will focus primarily on the United States with stops in Denver, Boston, New York, Detroit, Miami, San Francisco and, yes, a gig in Los Angeles.

The mix, entitled Night of the Dark Machines, will celebrate Lazarus's love of diverse sounds: It includes Burial, To Rococo Rot, Pulp and some of the usual house suspects as well (Portable, Seth Troxler, Solomun & Stimming). In reference to the title, Lazarus calls it "A misty nightmare where creatures of the dark wrap themselves lovingly around your ears and curl up inside your mind."

Tracklist
01. Innersphere - Out Of Body (Andrew Weatherall Mix)
02. Burial - Etched Headplate
03. To Rococo Rot - IVX 4
04. Q - The Voice Of Q
05. Jus Ed - Teckno Minimal Pcattss
06. Hercules & Love Affair - Blind (Hercules Club Mix)
07. Solomun & Stimming - Ghost Dog
08. MAW - Tranz
09. Unique 3 - Weight For The Bass

Soma will release Damian Lazarus's Night of the Dark Machines in September 2008. comment 7 Comments

Tue, 30 Sep 2008Have to say i'm intrigued by the tracklist, especially 'voice of Q'. It doesn't seem to match what is described as a dark mix. Keen to hear it though!

JoseMcleanwrote
Mon, 29 Sep 2008This is really good any Lazarus mix is essential for me afte his rebles compilations.

the first two tracks dont flow all that well it smore of an into to the mix but once you get on to 'This is the voice of Q' Theres no turning back, who else could mix Kassem Mosse with
Pulp and make it sound great. Lazarus is the man his essential mix is still one of my all time faves too.
