Disco lovers Metro Area will be the next to try their hand in Fabric's celebrated mix series.
Morgan Geist and Darshan Jesrani have dug deep into their unfathomably large record collections for Fabric 43 to craft a mix that will not be "the classic records that we’ve played forever," as Geist puts it. Instead, as he told Fabric, "we thought we’d do a mid '80s sort of thing, which is kind of a neglected time period." Indeed, what we recognize of the tracklisting seems to bear that out: Ministry, Heaven 17, Devo are all present and accounted for, while holding things up for the current age will be the mysterious Baby Oliver—widely rumored to be Geist himself—who turns up with "Feelings 2." Coming on the heels of last year's James Murphy and Pat Mahoney mix, we get the sense that this will act as a nice continuation of the party atmosphere that the series has opened more fully up to of late.
