Defected will release
Defected in the House: Goa 09 early next month, a 3 CD collection that celebrates the imprint's love affair with the area.
As the story goes, Defected A&R man Simon Dunmore recently visited India and was struck by the sound and vibe currently being offered by the country's house DJs. "I have seen it first hand – Indians love to party," says Dunmore unequivocally. With this unfettered enthusiasm, Dunmore came back to England determined to recapture the feel with a mix of his own, a mix by
ATFC and one by DJ Pearl, a native Indian. The trio offer up relatively deep affairs that don't spare anything in the soul department, fosusing on producers like Jerome Sydenham, Dennis Ferrer, Quentin Harris, Louie Vega and, in ATFC's case, ATFC.
Rather than simply mixing and leaving, though, Defected will also be bringing out some of its roster later this year to the country's second annual Sunburn Festival to perform. No details are out yet about the rest of the line-up of the three day affair, but the label has confirmed that The Shapeshifters, Dunmore, ATFC,
Copyright and more will attend. Last year's attendees included
