Italy will be the Halloween home to a host of top-flight DJs, as it hosts the third edition of Movement Torino.
The event, which was started by the cultural association Suoni e Colori and
Derrick May, acts as the Italian arm of Detroit's celebrated
Movement festival. As a result, the lineup is a solid mix between the best that America has to offer, along with some strong Italian support as well. Headlining things will be May and
Francois K performing as Cosmic Twins. The duo first toured together under the moniker in 2002 and promise that this night's set will be "experimental…ranging from traditional sounds to futuristic productions." In the "Deep Groovy Chunky" room will be Pimp Jackson-enabler Mr
Loco Dice, backed up by
Dennis Ferrer and headlining the "House" room will be Francois co-conspirators
Joe Claussell and Beat Pharmacy, AKA
Brendon Moeller. Providing support will be Italian DJs Krakatoa and Tropez, as well as Aussie Tini.
As if that weren't enough, two days before the music kicks off, an opening ceremony will take place at the National Cinema Museum of Turin in which an exclusive screening of
Hi-Tek-Soul, a film that goes a long way towards explaining the impact of Detroit techno on the world, will be shown.
