  • The Sleepy Jackson's Luke Steele and Pnau's Nick Littlemore have teamed up to create Empire of the Sun. Touting some of the most ridiculous cover art we've seen so far this year, the duo released Walking on a Dream earlier this month. The record, which is labeled as "psychedelic" in the press notes, actually more resembles something perhaps closer to Phoenix's polished pop with a splash of synthesizer magic to tie it all together. Basically, it's the sound of two professionals geeking out on writing perfect pop songs. Or is it? Walking on a Dream was reportedly heavily influenced by Alejandro Jodorowsky's cult classic film, The Holy Mountain, which seems hard to believe considering its strait-laced tunes. That said, if you take one look at the video for "Walking on a Dream," you'll understand that these guys are anything but normal. Tracklist 01. Standing on the Shore 02. Walking on a Dream 03. Half Mast 04. We Are the People 05. Delta Bay 06. Country 07. The World 08. Swordfish Hotkiss Night 09. Tiger By My Side 10.
