- The local Melbourne festival goes national with Carl Cox set to headline.
- The Stereosonic Festival will take place for the second year next month in cities across Australia. After a debut edition that saw the event take place solely in Melbourne, the organizers have decided to take Stereosonic national with events in Sydney, Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane and, of course, Melbourne. Performers include Carl Cox, DJ Hell, Booka Shade, Sneaky Sound System, Vitalic, Crookers, Paul Van Dyk and many more with the lineups changing slightly for each city. (So be sure to check your own to make sure that you'll see exactly who you want to.) Also, those in Melbourne and Adelaide should be aware that their event is held on the same day—which means that each crowd should keep an eye on the lineup times. Some headliners may be going on much earlier than might be expected. While the Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane and Melbourne dates are the normal run-of-the-mill park festivals, Sydney revelers can expect something a little bit different. "Satellite" nights will target specific genre fans. So, if you love Booka Shade, but hate Crookers, you're in luck: Each will be playing at a different venue on a different night. If you like both? Well…then you might have to pony up some cash. That said, the organizers have done a great job of segmenting the headliners out. "Satellite 1" features Booka Shade, 2 has Carl Cox as its headliner, 3 welcomes Paul Van Dyk and 4 will have The Crookers, DJ Hell, Vitalic and more on tap.
