Belfast night Yello is set to celebrate its second birthday this month with two special parties, one week apart from each other.
The first event takes place at Mynt on Saturday 8th November, where they've managed to ensnare Ivor Novello nominee D. Ramirez into playing the main room. Whereas you might know him mainly for his ubiquitous remix of Bodyrox's "Yeah Yeah," his latest double disc mix for Azuli shows that he's got plenty more tricks up his sleeve, taking in tracks from Stimming, Serafin, and Loco Dice alongside the more banging end of his repertoire. The same night sees Simple Records boss Will Saul return to the club to headline the Deep Room, after going down a storm there this April.
The following Saturday sees disco-house five-piece Crazy P play live, bringing their own inimitable brand of electronic funk to Belfast for the first time. The date at Yello is part of a tour in support of Stop Space Return , which was released recently on 2020 Vision Recordings. The album got a lukewarm reception from RA's Stéphane Girard earlier this year, but the group's live performances are where they really stand out from the crowd.
