  • Jan Jelinek returns as Farben image
  • Berlin-based artist Jan Jelinek has revived his long-dormant Farben guise for a new 12-inch, due for release next week. In the ten plus years he's been putting out records, Jelinek has mostly favored the experimental end of the spectrum, with a steady stream of abstract records that sound very much at home on ~scape. But some of his most celebrated work was as Farben, an alias he used for slightly more accessible material on Klang Electronic. Between 1998 and 2004, Farben released a string of 12-inches and a full-length called Texstar, which prompted Pitchfork to call Jelinek "one of the most inventive producers working in this field today." Despite the critical acclaim, Jelinek sidelined his Farben project for a full six years. The new self-titled EP combines previously unreleased old material with recently produced tracks, and will see release on Jelinek's own imprint, Faitiche. To hear samples of the record, head over to the label's official website. Tracklist A1. Rrival Inn (All) A2. Swinn Off B1. A Spiral Worldorder B2. Kursbuch 1 & 2 Faitiche will release Farben on November 5th, 2010
