  • Pioneer has just introduced a new all-in-one DJ system. The DJ gear giant has released its share of products in this category, and there are a number of similar systems on the market. What makes the XDJ-RX unique is that it's not tied to any particular DJ software, or even to a laptop. Like Pioneer's more recent CDJs, the RX takes tracks loaded in through USB ports on each deck. (It's billed as a "rekordbox DJ system," after Pioneer's proprietary music management software.) And like the first device in the XDJ range, the recently announced XDJ-1000, it's done away with CD drives altogether. A full-color LED screen at the top of the DJM-style mixer section takes the place of a computer screen. And the two decks on either side have features that should be familiar to CDJ nexus users, with the addition of pads under each jogwheel that let you slice up loops on the fly. The video below has the full rundown on the RX's feature set.
Pioneer will release the XDJ-RX in late February 2015 for a suggested retail price of 1,499 Euro.
