  • Studiologic have introduced the Sledge 2.0 synthesizer. The bright yellow synth is a collaboration with renowned German manufacturer Waldorf (who have a fair amount of their own gear coming out this year as well). This new version of the original Sledge has more to offer in terms of pure synthesis: three oscillators per voice for subtractive synthesis, plus frequency modulation, a noise generator, two LFOs, a multimode filter and two envelopes per voice. In addition to synthesis, you can also work with your own samples loaded in from your computer via USB and Spectre, the synth's sample software. You'll be able to play your sounds in new ways as well. The synth now has an "auto dual" mode that lets you play two sounds simultaneously, and polyphony has been upped to 24 notes. Both of the effects channels can be engaged simultaneously and mixed together. The updated version still has the same 61-key profile, but Studiologic has dropped the street price by about $600. The Sledge 2.0 is now available from Studiologic and Waldorf for an estimated retail price of $999.95.
