  • Making headlines for all the wrong reasons this week in relation to his ‘amicable’ break up with wife Zoe Ball, more news in relation to Fatboy Slim can be published. He has revealed that the curtain has closed on the Big Beach Boutique and will not re-open. The major reason for this is the unfortunate loss of 26-year-old Australian nurse Karen Manders life at the event in 2002. It has left him fearful of a repeat. Speaking to This Is Brighton Magazine he said “"We were really lucky last time the more I think about it, the more I think it could have been another Hillsborough. If we'd had a crush situation, I would have had a nervous breakdown. In late 2002 Fatboy Slim also voiced ideas about taking the Big Beach Boutique concept to an international audience including Australia and Brazil, but he has said that this is no longer an option. "That's not going to happen for exactly the same reasons, only worse. Putting the BBB on in my home town was difficult enough, let alone trying to put it on somewhere like Copacabana, which is one of the world's most dangerous beaches. Just imagine the amount of muggings and crime! One of the reasons we got away with it in Brighton is because this is such a laidback, peaceful city” Fatboy Slim has also pleaded with the media to stop hassling him and wife Zoe Ball whilst they try and come to terms with the split. Paparazzi have camped outside their houses and invaded the Privacy of both in the last week.
