  • How To Dress Well has revealed his fifth album, The Anteroom. The new record, out next month on Domino, was written after Tom Krell relocated to LA. He describes The Anteroom as a "testament to a two year period in which I felt myself slipping out of the world and into a cosmic loneliness in which I would eventually be dissolved. In order to give myself a way back, I began to try to understand my station as some kind of anteroom—a space between—a chamber that separates the known and the unknown, stable life from total disintegration." The record was co-produced by Oneohtrix Point Never-collaborator Joel Ford and moves away from his previous R&B-influenced style, looking back towards the underground raves and experimental influences that informed the project at its inception. Specifically, the new work was influenced by the likes of Coil, Prurient, Gas and Grouper, according to the press release. It also features a number of poets such as Li Young-Lee, whose stanza opens the first single from the full-length, "Nonkilling 6 | Hunger."
