Ostgut Ton has tapped Vatican Shadow to mix and compile Berghain 09, out next month.
Dominick Fernow dons his techno alias for the ninth entry in the series. The Hospital Productions founder, known for numerous projects like Prurient and Rainforest Spiritual Enslavement, put together a double-EP for the occasion, paying tribute to the '90s techno mixtapes that first introduced him to dance music.
Berghain 09 includes exclusive cuts from the likes of Genesis Breyer P-Orridge, Ron Morelli, Volvox, JK Flesh, Merzbow and Ugandan Methods with Prurient. The mix will be available as a free .WAV file from March 15th. The compilation, out on the same day, is divided stylistically by EP, with one clubbier record and one more experimental.
The Berghain mix series started up again last year after a three-year hiatus with a 140-minute mix from Fiedel. Read Will Lynch's review of that one here.
The release party takes place at Berghain on March 16th.
