Ariel Zetina will release an EP called Organism via Majía next month.
The smartbar resident's second release will come out on the label run by Texas duo Santa Muerte. It's influenced as much by acid house and techno as it is by the Caribbean party rhythms of her family's ancestral home, Belize, according to the press release.
Each track embodies a statement. "Putamaria," for instance, is a "reinterpretation of catcalls" and "Water Nymph" is about the contradictory societal standards to which she's held as a trans woman. The EP also features fellow Chicago artist MORENXXX.
