- It mixes together the Glasgow, Tokyo and London 2018 performances of his improvisational live show, CLOSE.
Richie Hawtin has revealed the next release on his Plus 8 Records label.
CLOSE COMBINED blends audio and video from three performances of Hawtin's improvisational live show, CLOSE. Recorded in Glasgow, Tokyo and London in 2018, the audio version of the album will come out on September 20th, while a video version is available on YouTube and other platforms now, and features additional extra tracks.
"I believe that as our scene has become more popular, the definition of DJing has become more narrow," Hawtin says. "I want to be as transparent as possible in how, why and what I play in order to bring focus onto the intuitive spontaneity that is at the heart of a great DJ performance."
Earlier this year, Hawtin released a 25th anniversary box set of early '90s material from his F.U.S.E. alias.
