  • Berlin-based producer Phillip Sollmann, AKA Efdemin, is releasing an LP on Ostgut Ton's offshoot, A-TON. Composed in 2016, Monophonie draws from the sonic research of Hermann von Helmholtz, and features custom-built instruments by Harry Partch and Harry Bertoia. In 2017, the album premiered at Berlin's Volksbühne theater, and later moved to the Ruhrtriennale and Kampnagel in Hamburg. Sollmann last appeared on A-TON with the 2018 collaborative project, Panama / Suez. His new record will land on the imprint on May 15th. Under his techno alias, Efdemin, the Berlin artist recently released the RA-recommended New Atlantis LP on A-TON's parent label, Ostgut Ton. Check out Monophonie on Bandcamp.
