  • Krake Festival is hosting a panel on disability and club culture at its 2023 opening party. Taking place at House of Music on July 21st, the Resident Advisor-supported panel will discuss principles of inclusion and diversity, with the aim of developing perspectives for a subcultural industry in which people with disabilities are afforded better opportunities to develop a career in the arts. BBC journalist Amy Zayed is the panel moderator. She'll be joined by German artist Bläck Dävil, social choreographer Daniel Vais, Musicboard Berlin's Maureen Noe, schwuZ artistic director LCavaliero Mann and Markus Lau, manager of social institute Lebenshilfe gGmbH. The free-to-attend opening party will also feature a film screening and BBQ. Taking place at Berlin club ://about blank on June 24th through 25th, Krake Festival will feature sets from the likes of DJ Stingray 313, IMOGEN and Wheelman. The party places a firm emphasis on inclusion, and examining why there are so few artists with disabilities in a scene that supposedly prides itself on diversity.
