  • Make Space, Resident Advisor's development programme for aspiring promoters, has announced its first two club nights. Organised by participants of Make Space, these parties are part of the venture's plan to educate up-and-coming promoters on the events business. The first one, a collaboration with Manchester club Soup and Liverpool crew Cellar Door, takes place on Saturday, November 25th at Soup. The lineup includes Dub Phizix, Charlie Boy Manson, Ghoulish, Gina and Qwirk. Up next is a rave by queer collective Attack The Wick on December 8th at Colour Factory in London. Vanessa Maria, Mark-Ashley Dupé, Shivum Sharma, allyXpress and others will grace the decks. Launched earlier this year, Make Space offers participants online classes with experts, plus mentoring with Corsica Studios, Colour Factory, Soup, The Love Inn and Wire. Afterwards, participants get to throw their own party at these venues. The programme seeks to elevate underrepresented groups and balance out promoter demographics. "Representation is so important in the industry and it's rare to see fully BIPOC lineups, let alone one with such amazing names and talent," London participant Nandipha Mthembu described, referring to the Attack The Wick party. "The programme has allowed me to bring on some of the biggest names in the community. It shows the community that we're here to support each other and celebrate each other's success." Check the event listings below for more details. Make Space will be announcing five more parties in the weeks to come.
