RA to premiere new documentary Karachi at Night

  • Resident Advisor is premiering a new film about Karachi's underground club scene. Directed by Shahbano Farid, Karachi at Night documents how Pakistani artists overcome cultural and structural obstacles to push electronic music in the metropolis. Featuring insights from Kukido (AKA Alien Panda Jury), Karachi Community Radio, Lyla and Rudoh, among others, the film offers a glimpse into the past, present and future of local nightlife. The world premiere takes place at New York club Nowadays on Wednesday, February 14th. Following the free screening, RA's Nyshka Chandran will moderate a discussion with Farid and Karachi-born artist Dynoman about DIY culture, community building and other key themes explored in the film.
