  • Maribou State are taking a pause due to the health struggles of band member Chris Davids. The UK duo broke the news on Instagram yesterday, April 11th, confirming that they've cancelled all upcoming shows and postponed new releases. "We're incredibly frustrated, but touring requires so much more love and energy than I'm currently able to give," said Davids. "We hope you understand our reasoning for making this decision." Davids was diagnosed with a rare brain condition called Chiari malformation in 2022. Symptoms included debilitating headaches, insomnia and deteriorating mental health. He eventually made the decision to undergo brain surgery last November. "The surgery, for the most part, was successful and the symptoms have now either been resolved or are in remission," he said. "However, there were multiple complications that have since slowed down my recovery and presented me with new challenges, that five months on, are still ongoing." He continued: "On a more positive note, I'm making progress, Liam's in good health and able to continue DJing, we do have a finished third album—one we're both incredibly proud of and excited to share with you all—and the live band will be getting back together as soon as the album's released."
