JG Wilkes and JD Twitch on life after Optimo (Espacio).
JD Twitch and JG Wilkes have been DJing together as Optimo since the mid-'90s. For years, their party of the same name at Glasgow's Sub Club was the stuff of legend, a club night where anything and everything was on the table musically. The duo brought their Sunday night residency to a close in 2010 and have each gotten involved in new productions projects since. But rather than shut the book on Optimo, Twitch and Wilkes have begun a new chapter: they're DJing together as much as ever and bringing their sound farther and farther afield. RA's Jordan Rothlein sat down with the guys recently to discuss the current iteration of Optimo—what they're playing, what they're making, and what's to come.
