  • In the most competitive clubbing market in the world, The Hydra has stood tall by championing diversity. The London event series is the brainchild of Dolan Bergin and Ajay Jayaram, who came together last year to create a season of parties that showcased some of dance music's best labels and promoters. Their stories up to that point reflected the shifting tides of London's club scene. Jayaram worked for a decade at The End, the much-loved London club that along with many other venues in the city closed its doors in 2009. Bergin, meanwhile, started his Electric Minds parties back in 2005. He utilised disused spaces in East London, until increasing pressure from local authorities meant a migration to the warehouses and lofts that recently became so prevalent in London. As they get into the swing of their latest season of parties, we sat down to discuss the next big shifts in the scene, and the hyper-competitive world of London event promotions.
