  • Live from ADE 2014, Olaf Boswijk tells us how his Amsterdam club became a classic.

  • Olaf Boswijk has been running Trouw, one of the world's most highly regarded clubs, for the last five years. And on January 3rd, 2015, at the height of the Amsterdam club's influence and popularity, it'll shut down for good. Trouw was always meant to be temporary—its home, a former newspaper press, was long ago slated for redevelopment—but that doesn't make it any easier to swallow. It's difficult to imagine Amsterdam, much less Europe, without the two-room industrial party space. To hear Boswijk tell it, though, it might have been unthinkable at the start of the club's run that they would make it as far as they have. Trouw's story is an interesting one, as is the way Boswijk, who worked in radio and music journalism before delving into the notoriously tricky nightclub business, ended up at the helm. We were keen to get it on record before the last dance, so we invited Boswijk to join us on stage at this year's ADE for a live edition of the Exchange.
