RA gets down with the French house and disco legend.
When the name Dimitri From Paris comes up, the mind inevitably drifts to disco. But while that genre is undoubtedly his first love, Dimitri's status in France was long attributed to his pioneering radio show in which he helped introduce house music to the country. Since then, he's carved a fascinating artistic path, crafting red-hot house remixes, kitsch-laden artist albums and Playboy-approved mix compilations. The guiding principle—whether it's remixing Chic or expressing wonderment at Tensnake's recent output—has always been melody. As Dimitri prepares to helm his fourth Playboy mix, this time alongside old friend Bob Sinclar, we caught up with him in France to talk about all of the above and more.
