| Vibing with a UK beatmaker.
Hip-hop has never been the UK's strong suit. But there is a new generation of auteurs emerging that is doing something to change that perception. Londoner Paul White is among them. He's an old school beatsmith—someone who prefers to while away his hours in the studio. The fruits of his labors thus far have included an entire album constructed out of samples from a single Swedish psych rocker, one of the most impressive hip-hop LPs of 2011 and a clutch of singles for his One-Handed imprint. As part of our Live RA Exchange series at 2012's Mutek Festival, RA's Todd L. Burns had a chat with White last week in Montreal.
