Alejandro Romero, part of the new Ecuadorian local scene. His passion for music starts at a really young age. His father encourage him to listen rock, blues and new wave, music with a different structure and taste than the one that people use to listen. He started to listen bands such as Soda Stereo, Radiohead, Sonic Youth, Brazilian Girls, Joy Division, who use a lot of synth and bass, basic elements of electronic music so that’s how he started to get interested in abstract, deep and minimalistic electronic sounds. As the raves and electronic events in Quito reach their highest point of popularity he felt attracted by the music that was played and how the dj was the responsible of turning the people energy on. So at the age of 14 he starts playing music such as minimal and tech house with a dark touch. As his music tastes start to develop he start listening more melodic music such as deep house, indie and nu disco. Now a days his sets are full of groovy bass, synths and drums, keeping always the deep style and the dark side of the electronic music. In his presentations he always keep that connection between the public and him to get that atmosphere of good energy and vibes. At his young age he has shared dj booths with some of the most talented exponents of the local scene, enjoying organizing and playing in small underground events such as: Halo Lunar,Play House (Electronic Thursdays), Rave Lounge Quito Deep Sessions, Christmas Sessions, Welcome to the Future, Om Sounds Residents Night. As a radio host (Radio Barranco). Also he is trying to make his own productions with a singular musical style, keeping the melodic deep house style and adding the groove of elegant tech house. We can say that his music style is very influenced by artists such as: Audiofly (Supernature), Art Department (Crosstown Rebels), Pawas, Oxia (8bit), Paul Kalkbrenner (BPitch Control), Guti (Desolat), Maya Jane Coles (Crosstown Rebels), Solomun (Diynamic Music), Marco Carola (M_inus), El Mundo & Satori (Kling Klong). Also by local djs and producers such as: Tambourine Man (Terapia Studio), Enrique Vela (Aftersoul Records), Andres Cordova (Deepness Records), Jose Guarderas (Mindsounds), Kim Bruun (Terapia Studio), Soultone (Under Sessions). Actually his goals are making quality music with his own touch and style, also getting involved, promote and develop the local electronic scene. He has a lot of projects in his mind, one of them studying contemporary music and be a professional dj/producer, innovating sounds and styles.
