With a djing background from the early nineties, when the only option was vinyl, DJ Black Lotus aka BLC (under various aliases) dj'd at several bars, clubs & private parties.
Playing a mixture of R&B, HipHop, Dancehall, Jungle & Reggae, he never failed to woo the crowd into a frenzy of excitement. This was often the result of his musical selection earned through his experience behind the decks, merged with his skill of beat matching with the odd scratch thrown in for good measure. After spending all his money on records, he couldn't afford to press dub plates (acetates). As a result, he would often perform live remixes, blending instrumentals & accapellas flawlessly. Once realised by the crowd, appreciation for his skill was evident.

His style of music has always catered for the underground vibe which is testament to his Sound System heritage, which by the age of 18 "Silver Fox" (along with 2 other members) built a loyal following through their organised Rave parties, which lead to bookings for private parties, bars etc.

Present:
DJ Black Lotus has re-emerged on the music circuit as a dj, podcaster, blogger & holds his own events for good measure. House music is his main weapon of choice playing a mixture of groovy, funky, underground, bass driven tracks that will get into you and make you want to move.

Using his experience from the vinyl days combined with new technology, he's embraced the DJ world competently. The smooth & seamless transitions are back along with musical usage of the new tricks on offer.

Not one to let go of his roots, he still drops the odd mix playing R&B, HipHop, Dancehall etc so look out for an event to match ;-)
