The ‘Freaks Radio show is the platform of expressing the musical identity of Stelios Pletoglou (Beta Boy) and Dimitris Mouhteros (Jaymod) through the air waves. It was created in September 2006, though their common desire to combine their musical influences and create, a different radio show focusing on quality electronic music, based on their perception and beliefs. What distinguishes «The Freaks Radio Show” among the rest of the internet radio shows and podcasts, is the fact that it is actually played and mixed live in the studio. It is transmitted by Noize Radio, one of the most popular stations in Northern Greece (93.5 FM) and also streamed over the Internet. On top of the audio there is a video stream on offer too. The show is on weekly on Saturday evenings, between 10:00 and 12:00. Jaymod and Beta Boy do a live mix that comprises of new and forthcoming releases of the deep-tech house and minimal variety and aims to become the reference point , not only for new music, but also spread the contemporary sounds and enlighten the audience, familiarizing with it and finally appreciate the culture of the underground dance music scene. During the flow of the show the microphones have a unique style of expression, outside of the conventional radio cliches. There is a vivid element of impulsivity that creates the feeling that the audience are participating at a party rather a simple radio show. An important part of the F.R.S. are the selected ‘Guest Mixes’ from prominent producers and DJ’s from around the globe and match the philosophy and character of the presenters. All of the sets are mixed exclusively for the show, and showcase the individual talents, discography and activity within the scene; there is occasionally an additional interview feature. Some of the names of producers and DJ’s that have been presented through the show so far are: Alex Flitsch, 3 Channels/Cats n Dogs, Afrilounge, Alland Byallo, Chaim, Dani Casarano, Dave Dk, Dani Koenig, Dirt Crew, Djinxx, Djuma Soundsystem, Dusty Kid, Ed Davenport, Estroe, Florian Meindl, Forteba, Franklin De Costa, Gavin Herlihy, Geddes, Gorge, Guy Gerber, Guy J, Jamie Anderson, Jeff Bennett, Jochen Trappe, Mark August, Masomenos, Mathias Matthew, Move D, P Toile, Paul Brtschitsch, Phunkin Djs, Rekliener, Redhead, Sascha B. Wagner, Sasse, Sebastian Roya, Sian, Snax, Stefan Tretau, Subsky, Zoo Brazil, Matt Masters, Pezzner and from Greek Dj’s, Gus & Bonso, Silversurfer a.k.a Siopis, Dj Free, Kyros, Mr. Statik, Alex Tsiridis ?a? Moid a.ka. Haris Mouridis. All the ‘Guest Mixes’ are promoted through e-flyers specifically designed for every dj and are advertised through mailing lists, blogs, forums, myspace and faceboook, giving them the feel of an event. One of the highlights of the “The Freaks Radio Show “ was the European advance preview , of the Connaisseur recordings compilation titled ‘Grand Cru compilation’ and mixed by Estroe, back in April 2007. Beta Boy and Jaymod are also successful djs with frequent gigs and past appearances at clubs, bars and other events. Stelios ‘Beta Boy’ is a dj since 1997. He has been a co-organizer for various parties based in his hometown, Serres. (Popaganda, Cubik Me, Groovy Wednesday, Red Sunday). He has also played gigs at Sante, Art House (Thessaloniki, Cargo, Koo (Kavala) and other cities in Greece. Dimitris, aka Jaymod, started mixing in 1993 and some notable gigs Suss War Gestern (Berlin) , Roadtrip (London), Plasma (Plovdiv), Loop (Athens), Boutique (Thessaloniki).
