IGLOO:
The foundations for 'Igloo' were firmly set in place back in August 2008. Every Thursday the people of Sheffield were invited into the cosy surrounds of the Lounge Bar to help sculpture, mould and be part of the fresh Igloo sound that Carl Dean offered up.
It wasn't long before the building blocks began to appear as the development of Igloo gathered pace. With weekly guests offering up their own interpretation of the Igloo sound the weekly night went from strength to strength playing host to some of Sheffield's finest DJ talent.
It soon became clear that the original plans for Igloo needed some re-working with a bigger plot of land required in order to accommodate its ever expanding sound. With the new plans in hand it was time for Igloo to begin the move from its spiritual home to pastures a-new.
The last event at the Lounge Bar in March 2009 was something special! Full to capacity all night long with those familiar, friendly faces having a great time; it exemplified what Igloo was all about!
August 2009 saw Igloo move to the now synonymous Lions Lair where the Ice cool rhythm continued to flow. The pounding sound system, visual effects, dedicated Eskimo raver's and DJ talent on display; all played their part in creating some fantastic nights which will certainly not be forgot.
Igloo rounded off 2009 with a free charity bash in aid of Help for Hero's. A plethora of DJ's did what they do best helping to raise in excess of £200.
2010 see's Igloo up sticks and set up camp at Sheffield's finest new venue… SAWA!

What can you expect from the new Igloo?
Expect the Igloo atmosphere that makes you feel part of something special… Within those confined walls of Igloo everyone's a friend!
Expect spine tingling, hands in the air, cool as fuck house music!
Expect only those DJ's that represent and respect that Igloo sound!
Expect a dark, intimate, underground feel.

SAWA:
Previously known as Circle Bar and Bar 101 before that, its present day form pays no resemblance to it past whatsoever.
Owned and run by the same guys that brought you Dulo on London road, it's clear from the off that they have put their heart on soul into the place using there past knowledge and expertise to create a truly unique venue and warm friendly vibe.
SAWA consists of two floors, the downstairs being a tidy little bar offering up anything from soul to deep house.
Upstairs however is where the magic happens!
Taking a short walk up the steps and through the magic door you greeted by, what we like to call the Audio Bullies! Nope not the electronic music group* as Wikipida would refer to them as, but 2 massive stacks of bass, mid and high. The whole set up of this place just works! from ground up (literally) you're always guaranteed a great time!

Together we are one:
Igloo and SAWA may as well have been called Posh & Becks. Fantastic at what they did but when they got together it took things to a whole new level, the relationship just worked and it's the same with Igloo and SAWA.
With bigger and bolder events planned throughout 2010 it won't be long until you start seeing Igloo & SAWA splattered across national magazines, branded… everything and world domination! Ok maybe we're getting a tat carried away but you get the idea!
