Igor Kats aka Mara Tone (Minden/Germany) became introduced into music in 2000. At that time, under the name dj 2one, he stood for various aspects of hip hop DJing. For more than 5 years he was playing as a resident dj in two clubs, he attended on many events, won a dj-scratch-battle and went along with a German hip hop act across whole Germany.

In addition to DJing Igor spent his time in studio. Since 2003 he was working on his own sound. He attended on three German rap albums, finished a lot of small projects and finally he released a solo LP in the end of 2005.

After all this time Igor decided to make new adventures and experiments. In 2008 he started the techno project Mara Tone ("Mara"; Lord of Darkness / Buddhism). Only one year later he was already playing techno on underground events and was adopted to the Kopfmusik crew and the legendary Tronix Club, where he became permanent member on all Kopfmusik @ Tronix Events until the club closed down in 2011.

Further he released his first EP on Kopfmusik in 2009. More EPs and remixes followed quickly and were released on labels such as Substudio Records, Taktgeber Musik, Indeks Music and some others.

Today Mara Tone stands for dark driving techno and unique skills on the decks. Expect more stuff by this artist in the future!
