"Than you guys. Not just for all the goodies and promos, but for keeping up with a legacy of artists that are not in it for the money. True art is what really inspire DJs like myself. Cheers"

About paulrodhy / This is a true case of a born to do it DJ! Even before he could read or write his favourite hobby was to delete the silence spaces between the tracks in his home tapes, or even, to re-arrange the track list in order to get a sequence that he could consider logical. Therefore there is not a time mark to start the biography from, so let's just skip a bit forward to 1988 which was the time he bought his first record intituled: Plastic Bertrand – Slave To The Beat. .... At the tender age of eight he decides to follow his brother who worked at a local radio station in their hometown, so he could be able to learn how to use studio equipment, simply because the home stereo just wasn't enough to let his creativity flow freely. .... A few years later, around 1993 comes the opportunity to create a strictly dance music radio show on that same radio station, in which Paul would do all the mixing and the radio's DJ did the voice over, telling the track's id's. .... By the year of 1994, the dance music movement starts to emerge from the underground, and names like To Pereira (DJ Vibe) start to become familiar to everybody which were witnessing a musical revolution and a whole new philosophy of night clubbing; until that time, only supported by clubs like Kremlin or Alcantara Mar. Fascinated with this sudden acceptance to dance music, the urge to deal directly with the audience stood up, and like such, he felt obligated to leave the program in order to promote his DJ gig's. .... His performances in the official school parties granted him his first real club residence in 1996 with 15 years old!! This venue had a capacity for 1.500 people and a mouth watering DJ booth with 3 turntables, Formula Sound PM90 mixer and a professional Denon dual CD player. .... The thirst for more knowledge made him decide to rotate all the most important venues in his hometown, but it wasn't enough; he left school, moved out of his parents house at the age of 17 to move to a similar city 50Kms up North to do the same rotating scheme, and so .. all this, he felt prepared to enter in Lisbon club life to bring more attention to him and to reach a different, and much more demanding audience. Since he moved to Lisbon in 2001 he has played in the most important venues in the city. Maintained several residencies in clubs like Kremlin or W Disco (former Alcantara Mar Club), and played with all top Portuguese DJ's in the most various venues or events. .... In 2004, he makes his return to radio shows on the only Portuguese radio station with 100% dance music contents (Mix FM) mixing the "Work In Progress" radio show hosted by Di Simmon. Paul Rodhy also has collaborations with several on-line radios and guest mix shows. .... In 2005 he continues all the hard work, producing, mixing and hosting radio shows, promoting his DJ gigs and signed with the top-selling brand of DJ gear equipment around the globe (Pioneer Pro DJ) as the official demonstrator for Portugal. The need for a title to make a brand on his international and domestic gigs, made him change the name of his radio show to "Underground Sound From Lisbon". The show goes on the air every Sunday mornings from 3AM to 4AM (CET), after the Release Yourself radio show of DJ Roger Sanchez. .... From a time where creativity was the strongest weapon in DJing, Paul Rodhy with his long DJ set's, live remixes and 3+ tracks mixes, intents to amaze people with his technical skills in order to a excellent and long-lasting memory of an experience in clubbing. ...... His motto as a DJ is: "The Love Of Talking To People Trough Music!" |
