About PhatJack /
Phat Jack’s unique take on deep house has changed and moulded the face of South African dance music into a landscape full of depth and texture for many years.

Devoted to the unpredictable sound that is house, Jack is always listening, appreciating and hunting for new music. He has always had the knack for blending the ability to not only be relevant and on-point but still holds down the age old tradition of DJing the classics. His skill, passion and charisma have been key attributes to his success, and through his music, Phat Jack expresses his magnetic individuality.

Since stepping on the scene as a DJ since as far back as the early nineties, Phat Jack has never faltered, always bringing his “no-compromise” attitude and deeply toned sound to all of his endeavours.

Jack started spinning records in Johannesburg giving and gaining love from the heaving sounds of Mzanzi and years later left for the mother city where he dived straight into the party scene and held numerous residencies at some of the top house clubs and credible party brands including slinging his unique blend of Nu jazz, downtempo and deep house.

With music his main motivator, Jack is also a record store owner, producer and events co-ordinator spreading his love for a scene and lending longevity to something he helped create.

It is no wonder he has gained such international notoriety, having been invited to Japan for Roy Davies Jnr’s Bombay records tour, Miami Winter Conference four years in a row where he played at Club Blue, New York City and Philadelphia.

Jack hosted a half hour mix show on Good Hope FM for two years reaching 150 000 listeners.

He has played alongside over 30 International DJ’s that include:
Frankie Knuckles, Jeff K, Trouble Men, Clive Henry (peace division), Jimpster, Diz, Armand van Helden, Deep Dish, AME, Jazzanova, Goldie, Gilles Peterson and Metro Area

Phat Jack’s sound, personality, hunger and love for music and its place in the South Africa will continue to inspire up and coming artists and rock dance-floors for many many years to come!
