About stereouser40 / A story that perfectly fits into the Ruhr Area as European Capital of Cultures 2010: Music production and management company 6000 media opens studios and offices in the former Fürst Leopold Coal Mine in Dorsten. The founders of 6000 media are producer Jaxon M. Bellina and manager Tim Schult. Their present careers led both all over the music world – now they are returning to their hometown.
Jaxon M. Bellina, producer and writer of several Top 10 hits for Sugababes, Girls Aloud, Moguai, Phil Fuldner and many more, works for international major labels such as Universal, EMI, Polydor, EastWest, London Records, Ministry of Sound and more. At the moment, the cosmopolitan songsmith commutes between Dorsten and London, where he works with Xenomania, Britain’s most successful production and songwriting team (Pet Shop Boys, Franz Ferdinand, Kylie Minogue, Gabriella Cilmi and many more).
Tim Schult is an internationally renowned music manager for several dance and pop acts. He gained world wide Top 10 and Number 1 hits in British, German and US Billboard charts and was responsible for the proud number of more than 20 million sold records. The music industry portal “hitquarters.com“ voted Schult two times into the Top 100 of the world’s most successful A&R managers. Throughout his career, he was awarded with many Gold and Platinum records. After four years of management work in Spain, Schult is now looking forward on working in his home area:
“We want to establish a network that improves the connections of the region’s huge creative potential“, says Schult and Bellina adds: “For this, we are building a powerful and internationally competitive team right now“. A unique network emerges in which artists, producers, DJs, songwriters, graphic designers, web designers, publishers and pr experts are bringing out new creativity.
“By using our contacts across the whole globe, made within a 15 years work from Europe to the USA and Asia, we can draw on many partners at the industry’s switch points“, Schult explains. 6000 media’s company philosophy is a prototype for the future of the music business: From songwriting to music production up to management, booking and marketing , the entire value chain is united under one roof. „This so-called 360-degree-model enables the artists to keep the biggest possible control of the way their music goes - from writing to playing live up to commercialization“, explains Bellina. Plus, in times of diminishing record sales, the model guarantees the company a stability of revenues – because it participates in every phase of the creation of value.
The Ruhr Area, which is managing a major structural change from heavy industries to service and creative industries, is one of the closest populated areas in the world – and a huge market by itself: More than five million people live in 53 cities in an area where every destination can be reached by car in one hour. The Ruhr Area’s vital culture and music scene is one of Germany’s finest and the creative industries growth rate is two times as high as the average industry growth rate of the region.
The 6000 media vision is to produce talent instead of coal at Fürst Leopold.
