What is a Lobster? In the realm of dance music, not much. This is the point. Our name was designed based on a wish for there to be no preconceptions on what this party is. The motivation is to grow naturally as a party which finds its own style and sound, rather than setting out to live up to a certain expectation or maxim. So, we wish to share with you our current idea of dance music. Music that is deep, or soulful, or just fun, or all of the above, and that incorporates the one essential component which makes a dance record what it is: a groove. We also like to share our passion for non-digital technology, facilitated by bringing interactive elements to each party, including our beloved typewriter-guestbook, 16mm film projection, balloons and of course, vinyl records. We aim to charge a nominal entrance fee, to make it as accessible to as many people who have a desire to get down as possible.
