 | | Off the back of an Ibiza escapade in the summer of 2011, Cadre Movement was born. On return the native UK, the party established by Josh and Anwaar as a result of pure love for House music. The vibe of the party was not to be sacrificed for extravagance, but to be expressed solely through the raw sound of underground House.
In the basement of a bar, yards away from the world famous Fabric, the first party kicked off. The party was free entry and the numbers poured in. Playing were the four corner stones of the Movement: Jamal Thomas, Ian Grimwood, Robbie Linstead and Steve Shorter. 9pm til 4am was not enough to satisfy the ravers, so the party continued until security insisted it end, sharply!
The first party gave life to the Cadre Movement podcast: This Ain’t The Radio. Sets recorded live from each party. Reliving the memory of parties is something we all do when we hear a track that made us dance like never before or bring back ‘that’ moment. So the Movement decided to let the ravers have that memory to relive over and over again. With almost 1000 plays since the first release the podcasts have been welcomed greatly.
Moving on Cadre Movement have had another two parties where the elements of nature attempted to put the show to a halt. The snow in February 2012, was unbelievable. Trains came to a standstill, even the ever reliable London black taxi could not service, But, somehow, the faithful braved the weather to return the basement in Farrigndon. This time the additions of new members to the Movement were on display: Jack Sawyer and Georgie Twitchett. Not to mention Josh decided to let the people taste his flavour of house.
Since then the party has moved venues to a remote little wonderland in the urban kingdom of Hackney. At the end of March 2012, on a ride with Alice down this hole to chase the white rabbit, Cadre gave the followers a party in a space like no other. This time the Movement brought the ravers out to play from 5pm. Ben Davis the most recent addition shared the tiny both with his partner Jack for a b2b session. Callum Burman also stepped up to play his part in the trilogy As previous the weather was far from impressive as the torrential rain continued to pelt London; morning, afternoon and night. Again the party rocked on until the early hours of the morning in the intimate space. This was a true House party.
The next chapter sees Cadre Movement return to Hackney for the fourth episode. This time the zodiac is becomes complete with the final 3 dimensions in place: Kyle Altringham, Hayley Martinez and KT Lucas. With all 12 stars in place, this makes for a epic marathon for the faithful of the Movement…
…The story continues
so... no judge no jury, f#@k the hierarchy, come find us, come party..
