In just under 3 years, Zutekh has become a major event in the electronic music calendar of Manchester. From its inception as a small midweek party for friends, in a tiny space above a Shisha Cafe on Manchesters Curry Mile, it has gone on to become an independent brand like no other. Since moving to their current home two years ago - the Sound Control Basement, the team behind Zutekh have created one of the best party atmospheres you are ever likely to find.
Without ever pigeonholing themselves to the same straightforward genre and booking policy month in month out, they have brought the likes of Slam, Dyed Soundorom, M.A.N.D.Y, Craig Richards, Chris Duckenfield, Dan Ghenacia, Lee Foss, Julietta, Subb-an and Terry Francis to Manchester, ensuring sell out events with 500 + people each and every time.
At the core of Zutekh is it's 6 resident DJs: Originally James Crossan, Dave Duffy, Quixano, Damian Martez and Richie Hall, with Below / One Records head honcho Adam Shelton coming on board in November 2010. After playing one of the best sets ever at Zutekh, Adam was made resident on the spot! Recent achievements for Adam include taking his One Records brand to Berlin's Watergate club, playing twice at Fabric and smashing an off-sonar party under the One Illusion brand at the W Hotel in Barcelona. In the past he has graced the turntables of some of the world’s finest clubs and festivals including Panorama Bar, Cocoon in the Park, Back to Basics, The Garden Festival in Croatia and Space in Ibiza.
Zutekh DJs are starting to make some serious waves; after playing stand out sets at Carl Craig's 20 Years of Planet E party at the Warehouse Project in Manchester and at Croatia's Hideout festival this summer, the bookings have been coming thick and fast. Upcoming gigs include Creamfields, The Cosmic Ballroom in Newcastle, The Rainbow in Birmingham, Just Jack in Bristol and The Warehouse project... Hold on tight people!!
