Flash Brothers - Restless

  • The Flash Brothers have really established themselves in the last year or so with impressive productions such as Hazy March and Protect The Senses. This time they return on Distraekt with 'Restless', which also comes with two mixes from Pillavin & Zimbardo. On the A-side is the Original Mix. We are greeted with some nicely constructed beats which seems to be a trademark of the Flash Brothers drum patterns. The main vocal line makes an early appearance shortly before we are slapped in the face with a droning baseline that gives the track a driving element. A breakdown follows shortly with the vocal on loop, but more importantly, sees an electro string pattern take the production a step further. The baseline comes back in and the track hits overdrive. Also on the A-side is an accapella for fans of the vocal line. On the flip is, firstly, the Pillavin & Zimbardo Snake Charmer Main Mix. The remix features a nicely arranged heavy drum pattern, and a more noticeable use of the vocal. Underneath the drums, an impressive and screechy baseline gives it a real dancefloor feel. Impressive Mix. ThePillavin & Zimbardo Beater Dub is more of the same really, this time without the intense use of the vocals for obvious reasons. There are subtle differences like a little melody used and a few more atmospheric sounds deep into the track. More impressive work from the brothers from Israel. It's a track that is already receiving big airplay from no other then John Digweed, and its sure to make quite a stir.
