Punjabi MC feat. Jay-Z - Mundian To Bach Ke

  • Probably one of this years biggest tunes has to be Punjabi MC's Mundian To Bach Ke (Beware Of The Boys) and why do I say that? Well simply because of all the clubplay and airplay this tune has recieved over the past year, the crowd reactions and the number of cheeky bootlegs that have used this tune as inspiration to rock the party. Asian music, Punjabi vocals, hip hop and soundtrack music all combined into one. Jay-Z remix Already recieving high rotation on radio is the Jay-Z remix, and while it offers listeners English vocals to relate to, Hova's version seems to take away the mystery that was the Punjabi vocals and take over them with his brand of commercial hip hop MC-ing, interrupting Punjabi MC's verses in the process. If you like it, then this CD single is for you. Original Radio Edit The one that started all the madness; the one that brought it all on; the much bootlegged one - the original version is definitely where it's at! From the sly sample of one of my favourite TV shows - kids who grew up in the 80's would know it - to the quick, ferocious rhymes styles of MC Labh, and of course the Indian tablas and sitar(? - correct me if I'm wrong) - this one is destined to be a classic. Triple X Mix Pressing the Turbo Boost button (hint hint!), the Triple X mix takes the tune into mainstream house territory which should be a hit on mainstream pop radio stations who play pop oriented dance music... I'm not really into it. Motive Hi Lectro Mix ... the same goes for this mix. Not really much difference in the two mixes, this one being a slightly slower and leaning towards the funkier side of house. Mundian Breaks Future bootleggers this one is for you - a straight up instrumental of the original tune, all you need to do is find a suitable tune to compliment it with. Just give me the original and the instrumental tunes please and I'll be one happy chappy.
